Polar Bears International is the only conservation organization whose sole passion and focus is on polar bears. They are known for their cutting-edge science, inspired use of media, and relentless drive to ensure polar bears remain a part of the Arctic forever.

Utah's Hogle Zoo has partnered with PBI since 2007. Polar bears are one of Hogle Zoo's six focal species for conservation. This is part of our Big Six conservation initiative to prioritize our investments and deliver meaningful long-term conservation outcomes.

Our Arctic Ambassadors

Four of Utah's Hogle Zoo staff members have participated in PBI's Climate Alliance since 2010.  Becoming ambassadors for the Arctic, Zoo staff return from a week-long immersive experience in Churchill, Manitoba (Canada) ready to communicate and lead their institutions and communities in activities to tackle climate change.
