Carpool Together

Have you ever thought to share a ride with a friend? Friends and family often drive to a lot of the same places: school, work, the grocery store and soccer games. Not only will it save you gas and money, but it will help save polar bears!

According to UCAIR, cars make up 48% of daily emissions in Utah, a primary contributor to poor air quality.  This UCAIR video helps explain how this works.

If you carpool once a week, the average driver will save $11 and reduce emissions by 16.6 lbs of CO2 a day.  GHG emissions from transportation are primarily from burning fossil fuels for our cars, trucks and other forms of transportation.  These gases build up and trap heat around the Earth much like a blanket.  This warming disrupts the climate and contributes to less sea ice.
